There are many different forms of stress: physical stress, internal biological stress,
emotional stress and psychological stress!Some stress becomes overwhelming, either because it’s too much too fast, or because it goes on for too long with too little support.
Overwhelm happens as a shock, a trauma to the body, causing lasting physical and psychological changes, and the body has difficulty bouncing back to its prior state of health.
Having stored trauma does not mean you were abused, neglected or had terrible parents, though for some this is the case. It means there have been situations in your life when your body experienced not having enough resources and support. It became overwhelmed, and the best way to manage was to ignore your natural needs and push through, not caring but just working harder.
Everyone has experienced trauma. Everyone is living compromised to some degree.
