Girl Smoothies app) takes smoothies to the next level helping you blast your way to good health and blended bliss.
The book includes 100 of my favorite smoothie recipes designed to fit your every need, whether you want to detox, lose a few pounds, get energized, or guard against seasonal colds. All of the recipes are gluten-free and vegan (egg-free and dairy-free) and many are also soy-free, nut-free, and paleo-friendly. You can search for smoothies to fit your dietary preferences in the index.
There is a stunning photo and double-page spread for each smoothie with recipe summaries listing the health benefits, and special icons to flag specific needs - weight loss, immunity, detox, energy, inflammation, protein, alkalinity, unsweetened, and nuts (for allergies). Ingredients lists include both imperial and metric measurements, and there is also a full nutritional analysis providing calories, fat, sodium, carbs, fiber, sugar, protein, calcium, and iron levels per serving.
Each smoothie has three optional boosters (like chia seeds, ginger, coconut oil, wheat grass, superfood powders) that allow you to ramp up flavor, nutrient value, or both. Use one, two, or all three options together according to your taste or sense of adventure. I call out the value of the boosters in the head notes.
In addition to the recipes, I share my Smoothie Secrets for elevating flavors and textures to help you make your own amazing blends, and share tips for soaking ingredients, storing your shakes, using protein and probiotic powders, beating bloating, juice vs blending, and more.
